Our tool specialists have created compact versions of the tried-and-tested POLY©turn polygon turning tool. As a result, we can now produce modular basic bodies smaller than 80 mm in diameter with mounting holes from 31 mm in diameter. Polygonal turning is particularly worthwhile in large-scale production, for example for grooving and longitudinal turning of precise polygons or when manufacturing fittings, banjo bolts and valves for pneumatics and hydraulics. The time-consuming milling of surfaces with driven tools is no longer necessary. POLY©turn polygon turning tools have a modular design consisting of a basic body, cassette and cutting insert. On single and multi-spindle lathes, they enable one, two, four, six and eight surfaces to be produced quickly and economically on the circumference of cylindrical components by grooving or longitudinal turning. The design of the tool body made of heavy metal has particular advantages. This design is available exclusively from us. Their high moment of inertia ensures that the tool runs smoothly. Torsional vibrations resulting from the interrupted engagement of the polygon turning tool are heavily damped. This significantly reduces the repercussions on the machine drives, preventing possible damage and extending the service life of the drive components. Suitable versions of the base bodies or suitable adapters for standard base bodies are available for almost every standard tool interface - cylinder, cone, polygon. As an option, we design special tools with special holders and special inserts, for example for producing profiled surfaces.
